Our Story: Rooted in the Land, Grown with Passion.
Our story begins in the early 1900s with our great-grandparents, Paola and Francesco. Newly married and with a growing family, they began cultivating the fertile lands of Contrada Guardabasso in Sciacca. Amongst the fruit trees, vineyards, and cereals, their true passion lay in the olive groves.
Years passed, and while their children pursued different paths, our grandfather, Saro, remained dedicated to the land. His love for these olive groves became a defining part of his identity. “You see these olive trees?” he would often tell us, “They are like children to me.”
Nonno Saro passed away in 2022 at the age of 96. Perhaps his long and fulfilling life was a testament to the simple pleasures of walking amongst his beloved olive trees and embracing a truly Mediterranean diet – rich in fresh, wholesome food harvested from his own garden.
Today, we, Dario and Giuseppe, proudly carry on this legacy as the fourth generation of olive growers. We honour our family’s history by crafting premium extra virgin olive oil that embodies the true spirit of Sicily. With every bottle of Nectare, we share not just the taste of our exceptional olive oil, but also the love, dedication, and tradition that have been nurtured for over a century. This is how Novahera Agricola was born.
